How to effectively improve PCB factory SMT assembly production capacity


Nowadays, the market competition is becoming more and more fierce. The SMT processing factory assembly plant must be in an invincible position in such an environment. The first point is to reduce production costs and improve efficiency.


SMT machine

In order to achieve this goal, the most important way is to improve the production efficiency of the production line. SMT production line consists of many equipment, including screen printing machine, SMT machine, reflow soldering, etc., but in fact, the speed of the production line is decided by the SMT machine .


SMT production lines usually consist of high-speed and high-precision chip SMT machine, the former mainly for mounting components, and the latter for mounting ICs and profiled components.


When the two SMT machines complete an installation processing time (hereinafter referred to as installation time) equal and minimum, the entire SMT production line can maximize its production capacity.


In order to achieve the aim, we can handle the load loader as follows. Load the assigned balance. Reasonably allocate the number of components installed per device, and try to make each device installation time equal.We put the number of parts in the initial paste distribution of each device, and there are often time intervals. This requires that the production load of all the adjusted parts of the equipment will be installed on the equipment for a long time according to the installation time of each equipment on the production line. Moving parts to another device to achieve load balancing distribution when arranging the loader, the same type of elements are placed together to reduce the number of nozzles used to attach the pick-up elements and save installation time.


Select a larger number of feeders should be placed near the printed board. In the up and down cycle, as far as possible from the front or the back of the material station to reduce the head shift distance. Make sure the mounting head is full of load during each cycle. Some principles conflict with the optimization process, so you need to consider choosing the best optimization. Optimization software can be used for load distribution and device optimization. Optimization software includes equipment optimizer and line balancing software. The device optimizer is optimized for the placement process and feeder configuration.


In the BOM and CAD data components, it can generate installer and feeder configurations, optimize motion paths and feeder head configuration optimizers to minimize travel heads, saving assembly time. The production line balancing software is an effective tool for the optimization of the entire production line. The optimization software adopts certain optimization algorithms, and the optimization software has certain intelligence, which can complete the optimization process faster and better.


When a device is slower than other devices, the device will become a bottleneck restricting the speed of the entire SMT line. According to a sample survey conducted by 19 factories, bottlenecks often appear on the SMT machine, and only by adding a placement machine can the bottleneck be eliminated. Of course, this requires a large capital investment, but this can make full use of the remaining capacity of other equipment, which is more cost-effective than purchasing an SMT production line.
