The reason why the soldering iron does not hang tin

1.The power of the soldering iron is too large

The power of the soldering iron tip is from 20W, 25W, up to several hundred watts. The external heating type soldering iron has a complicated manufacturing craft, low efficiency and high price. The quick-heating type soldering iron is difficult to operate due to the large transformer being hold on the hand; the internal heating type soldering iron has the advantages of simple structure, high thermal efficiency, light weight and flexibility, and is preferred. Used as decoration transistor, IC type tape recorder, TV set, for ordinary circuit experiment, generally 20W is suitable, repair vacuum tube machine, such as amplifier, old instrument, 35W is appropriate, external heat type is 45W, welding the wiring of the large transformer and the grounding trunk on the metal base plate are 50W for internal heat and 75W for external heat. You can compare whether the tip you are using is too large.

2. The quality of the soldering iron is poor

There are some inferior soldering iron tips on the market. If you accidentally buy them, it is easy to have the problem of the soldering iron head hanging tin.

Solution:

First prepare a blade and a new solder wire, which should contain auxiliary additives. First burn the soldering iron, then unplug it, use a blade to clean the area where the should hang tin,and fill the tin with a new solder wire. It may not be able to go up at first, and then scrape it off and re-apply. When it gets down to a suitable temperature, the solder will go up naturally. If it still doesn't work, repeat the process. If it still doesn't work, then your soldering iron will contain too much tin. Can’t hang tin. You can know try it by magnet.

3.The electric iron is dry burn for a long time

The electric soldering iron is not used for a long time in the condition of electricity get through, and the inferior solder and rosin are used, or the soldering head is not hanged tin before the long-term laid aside, which cause the soldering tip of the soldering tin layer off, resulting in the soldering head not hanging tin.

Solution:

(1) Remove the power supply and remove the soldering tip while the soldering iron is cooling (note: lightly disassemble, do not fold the heating rod), and rub off the black non-hanged tin layer on the prepared 1000-mesh sandpaper. Of course, if the sandpaper is not easy to buy, the fine sand surface of the household whetstone can also be polished.

(2) The copper-colored soldering head will be ground, mounted on the soldering iron, and plugged in power supply.

(3) When the soldering iron tip is gradually warming up (note that the soldering tip should not be dipped with rosin and water absorbing sponge at this time), touch the soldering tip with the rosin core solder wire. From the beginning of the don’t melt, to the gradual increase in the temperature of the soldering tip, the solder wire gradually begins to melt. At this point, the solder can be hung after touching the solder wire to the entire copper surface of the soldering tip.

1. When using the soldering iron, the long-term dry burning is most likely to cause the soldering iron not to be tinned, so do not use it for a long time, such as 10 minutes, unplug the soldering iron.

2. Before using the soldering iron, the tin should be hung on the soldering iron. After using it, attach a layer of tin to extend the service life of the soldering iron.
